KSFS Rules and Regulations

KSFS Culture

  • Here at KSFS we’re all family. Let’s show respect for each other by respecting each other’s shows.
  • OBEY THE ZONE! Do NOT just walk in the on-air studio. Make sure the ON-AIR light is NOT on. Peek through the window and check to see if the DJs are on-air.
  • When the coast is clear, poke in and ask the DJ permission to walk in.

KSFS Lounge

  • It’s alright to chill and hang out in the KSFS lounge. Make sure you are not too loud or too rowdy that you disturb and distract the person that’s on-air.
  • Make sure you keep the entire station clean at all times. Throw all the garbage in the trash, even if it’s not yours. Organize all CDs that you find out place and put them in the shelves where they belong.

Common Sense

  • Arrive EARLY for your show! Give yourself about 15 minutes.
  • Make sure you give yourself time to prep your show.
  • Discuss and arrange a segués into your show with the DJ before you and a segués out into the next show.
  • Keep in mind that it takes a minute to finalize a CD.
  • Normalize studio before you leave for the next programmer.
  • Put away all CDs used.
  • Clean up the on-air room before you leave.

Protocol for Missed Shows

  • Cover your ass! Most of the time, other DJ’s don’t mind covering someone else’s timeslot.
  • Contact the DJs BEFORE and AFTER you to let them know you’re going to be missing your show. Make sure you arrange whether one of them is covering your timeslot, another DJ is covering, if you have recorded a show and you want it to be played, or to put on the loop
