Job Description: The news director runs the news department. The news director assigns stories to reporters on staff, monitors the wire service and is involved with identifying the important news issues within the community.

WMUR, New Hampshire's dominant TV station is looking for a News Director to supervise 29 and a half hours of news a week plus "Chronicle," our nightly news magazine show. We also have the dominant New Hampshire web site (WMUR.com) so we are looking for a person with knowledge of multi-platform news coverage. WMUR has a national reputation for political news coverage so interest in politics is a must.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years news management experience, preferably in a cross section of market sizes, ability to develop and share a sophisticated news philosophy, good teaching and motivating skills.
